I started regular deposits just before last extension which was based on income letter from consulate. Why? 1) Want to avoid the effort with the consulate (don't live in Bangkok or Pattaya). 12 month deposit can all be done locally. 2) Always afraid consulate might stop issuing for lazyness/careless about their people abroad. -

By the way, if you want the money to arrive in your Thai bank account within seconds you need to keep the transfer amounts below ฿50,000, say at ฿49,950. If you transfer an amount higher than that, then the transfer normally takes about three business days. The way to get around this would be to break the ฿300,000 transfer into six transfers of ฿49,950 each and do them in a row one after another and then you will pay the ฿44.76 transfer fee six times. if you're not in a rush to get the money into your Thai account then you can do it all as one transfer, wait 3 business days for the money to arrive, and pay the ฿44.76 only once. Also, Wise is only able to do transfers above ฿50,000 to I think only the three biggest Thai banks. Otherwise, the transfers are automatically limited to ฿49,999 per transfer by Wise anyway. So to be able to do a ฿300,000 transfer all at once you need to be sending the money to an account at either Bangkok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, or Kasikorn Bank. Perhaps they've expanded that lists of banks now that they can do transfers to that are above ฿50,000 each, but the last time I checked transfers above ฿50,000 for each transfer was still limited to those 3 Thai Banks. -

Usually two weeks is my max but I've stretched it to 3 couple of times. More than that, I just can't stay away that long. 🤷 -

Truck Crash on Expressway: 16 Vehicles Wrecked, 17 Injured
Poor maintenance is possibly the cause of the failure. The state of trucks in Thailand is disastrous. The vehicles are often extremely old and there seem to be no technical checks, to ensure that the vehicles are kept in good condition. I saw firsthand a (smaller) truck experiencing a breaks failure in Bangkok, at a traffic light, and wrecking two cars in the line next to mine in the process. -

Well, why didn't you say that before. To authenticate a US document. https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/notaries-public/authentication-procedure/ 1. First, have the document certified by the entity that issued it. 2. Then by the state in which that entity is located 3. Then by the Federal Government of the US state department. 4. Have the document translated into Thai 5. Then have the document and translation legalised by the Consular section of Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Immigration will then accept that authenticated foreign legalised document as genuine. There, fixed it for you! 🙂 Let us know how you get on next year. -

street value in the UK isn't street value in Thailand, that's roughly 1-2,000 THB a package there from what i've seen sold on FB. A spliff in the UK is 400 THB
