Football - In Group E in last night's matches in the Qatar World Cup 2022 Germany scored a late equalizer against Spain to draw 1-1. Earlier Costa Rica shocked Japan by beating them 1-0. In Group F Morocco stunned Belgium 2-0 and Croatia beat Canada 4-1, meaning that the Canadians are out of the competition.

 

In the EPL  Bournemouth have appointed Gary O'Neil as their manager on a permanent basis following his spell as interim boss.


The 39-year-old took the helm at Vitality Stadium after head coach Scott Parker was sacked in August. The Cherries  have earned 13 points from 11 top-flight games with O'Neil in interim charge, and are 14th in the league.

 

Tennis - Canada won the Davis Cup for the first time by beating Australia in the final in Malaga. Canada were appearing in only their second Davis Cup final.

 

Golf - Open champion Cameron Smith starred in his home town of Brisbane to win the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship by three strokes. The 29 year old held a three-shot overnight lead and finished with a three-under round of 68 to finish on 14 under and secure the title for a third time.
