Football - Plenty of drama in last night's Qatar World Cup 2022 games as Cameroon came from 3-1 down to draw with Serbia 3-3 in Group G. Also in the same group Portugal secured their place in the last 16 after a 2-0 victory over Uruguay. In Group H Ghana beat South Korea 3-2 in a game which saw South Korea's coach Paulo Bento sent off after the final whistle and Casemiro scored a stunning winner as five-time champions Brazil edged past Switzerland 1-0 to also reach the knockout stages.

 

The entire board of Italian club Juventus, including president Andrea Agnelli, have resigned. The Serie A club finished fourth in the league last season and made a €254 loss - a record in Italy.

 

Professional footballers in Scotland are to be banned from heading the ball in training the day before and the day after a game.Clubs are also being told to limit exercises that involve repetitive heading to one session per week.The new guidelines come after Glasgow University research that showed former footballers were three-and-a-half times more likely to die from brain disease.

 

Cricket - Ruturaj Gaikwad has become the first cricketer to hit seven sixes in one over in a limited-overs match. The 25 year old India batter, broke the record in a Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final, playing for Mahara-shtra against Uttar Pradesh in Ahmedabad yesterday, Left-arm spinner Shiva Singh was the bowler hit for seven sixes - the fifth of which came off a no-ball, earning Gaikwad an extra delivery. The 43 runs conceded also equalled the record for most runs off an over.
