Back-to-Back STV -> METV (2 days apart) - doable?

Featured Replies

Hi fellas,

I'm on a STV ending soon, and I wasn't able to do any extensions i.e. 3 month of use. Would you think I face IM-troubles if I do only a 2-night stay in Vietnam, and come back?

Background: My new METV was approved via the e-visa system although I'm still in Thailand.

It would be safer if you used a land crossing (avoiding Poipet/Aranyaprathet) rather than flying in. Since you are arriving with a visa (not asking for a visa exemption) there ought according to the rules be absolutely no problem, and there would not be at some airports. However, both Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang can sometimes manufacture reasons to refuse to honour your tourist visa. Your prior history (before your 90 days on the SETV + extension) could prove relevant.
