Popular Post webfact
Daily News Thai Caption: Try it out! Daily News reported from a well known tourism area in the south of Thailand - Koh Yao in Phangnga - where they found "Thailand's smallest roundabout". It was essentially a teetering lump of decrepit concrete surrounded by a yellow circle at a t-junction in the downtown area. The Koh Yao Noi locals are used to the one meter high lump while tourists stop to say "WTF" and take pictures. Local man Pradit, 60, said it had been there for 40 years and was something of a tourist attraction. Now the local authority are planning an upgrade. The story came as police in Chiang Mai were banging on about a new traffic fine and integrated motoring system that they said would improve driving habits and safety. And news that more than 13,000 had been killed on the Thai roads this year and getting on for a million injured. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-12-08 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. worgeordie
It might be the smallest , but still looks like it been crashed into a few times, regards Worgeordie
Moonlover
Well actually it's not a roundabout at all is it. It's a rather crude 'bollard' placed at a T junction, probably to discourage motorists from cutting across the junction when turning right, a common and hazardous practice in Thailand. As @worgeordie mentioned, it seems to have failed in that regard a few times. 1

Andycoops
The only thing that improves driving ability is proper training which is not done here. Driving around a car park for a couple of days and doing a few manoeuvres around cones is not training drivers in road craft.
