Daily News Thai Caption: The Yakuza

Police investigating an illegal Japanese run and staffed call center in Bangkok have found a link to Japan's infamous crime organization the Yakuza.

The owner of the operation is a member.

Earlier this week five Japanese nationals were arrested after a compatriot complained that he was held against his will and extorted, reported Daily News.

The five face seven serious charges including illegal detention and extortion.

Daily News reported that a 39 year old who was arrested in the raid was covered in tattoos.

The Yakuza are well known for having tattoos.

Is there any other international criminal outfit left that hasn't set a base in Thailand yet i wonder?...

What's going on?
Everyday now a story about chinese, japanese, polish, russian etc criminals getting busted.
Or police just woke up or elections are near.

No, I believe they have all heard how easy going (lazy) and prone to bribery the RTP are - relatively easy to work out really

Covid is ending, Thailand is reopening for business, they're desperate to recover from their losses. Great time to jump in.

YAKUZA AND TRIADS BATTLE FOR CONTROL OF BKK. I love it. I miss the Hong Kong action flicks of the 80's and 90's. Looks like they're back, now in real life.

Sounds vaguely familiar.
