Secretary general of the Office of the Narcotics Bureau Wichai Chaimongkhol spoke to Siam Rath after the Airport Interdiction Task Force at Suvarnabhumi seized 2,000 Ecstasy pills in a package from the Netherlands earlier this month.

The AITF followed up on the case when a mother came to claim the package and said that her son's name was on it as the recipient.

The drugs were hidden in two electric kettles.

The youth was arrested at his house.

He had 4.5 grams of broken Ecstasy pills hidden in a phone in his bedroom.

Ziplock bags were taken into evidence along with a phone and computer.

It is believed that the youth - who was unnamed - was planning on selling the drugs.

He faces up to 20 years in jail and a fine of up to 2 million baht.

If they know who brought them in then they should also get jail time at least 20 years.

Maybe try to conceal it better. Who would ship a cheap "waterkoker" to Thailand that probably costs minimum 20 Euros in Rotterdam when you could get same from Lazada for 200 baht?

Why do you think it's the best years? When you're young, broke, have no gf or wife, no social standing, no job, no education?

They do, he did and they got him.

Book the punk hope he enjoys prison life.

Ouch!!!!

Poor kid.....

if you do the drugs then you have to take the thugs or bugs  ....  or something like that  !

You refer to a very common problem with minor criminals.  To commit  a crime you must be in control of most (if not all) factors, else you will be consigned to the slammer.

we definitely need the "crying" reaction back.

He doesn't look like he can afford to buy that much ecstacy from the Netherlands, where it is not as cheap, as far as I know.

There was obviously a fairly big time dealer involved in Europe who financed the drugs, and just shipped it across to him.

Poor kid, feel really sad about his future.

I have often wondered what would happen, if an enemy of somebody, just dropped some drugs into a box and shipped it to an unknowing person.

Probably the same as what is gonna happen to this kid?

Yes, arrest everyone at the post office!  Arrest the pilot of the plane that flew the package here and all the passengers!
All drugs are bad because some people abuse them. Ban them all!!!

Ban all cars because people have accidents

Ban alcohol

Ban having fun in case someone hurts themselves!!

In case you can't guess I think adults should be able to choose if they want to take a recreational drug like E.

You are entitled to your opinion but what you dont seem to have considered are the people who will take a drug then jump in a car or on a motorbike.

What you do at home is your choice but many people will not keep it at home.
