RandolphGB
Can any dory recommend a provider of sound proof sliding glass doors? Or if not ‘sound proof’, some that are strong enough to keep out the sound of the road outside.
ThomasThBKK
I use Schueco (german brand) aluminium profiles and double glazed safety glass everywhere. Keeps all noise out for us. https://www.schueco.com/my-sliding-door/panorama-design these models basically. They are in Thailand, profiles are made in germany, glass gets made here afaik.
Jerno
No such thing as glass that is sound proof. Multi-pane glass and perhaps thicker glass can dampen sound. Much depends on loudness out outside sound. Solid baffles can absorb sound significantly, glass cannot.

Nitpicking... low frequencies also travel through concrete etc. "Soundproof" glass is used in every recording studio, usually 2 layers of different thickness. With absorption class 6 u get 50db+ absorption depending on frequencies. You can either use above mentioned different thickness panes or laminated security glass as explained here: https://www.cgc-jp.com/products/search_category/architecturalglass/bouon.html#:~:text=There are two types of,combines soundproofing and security performance. But even normal double glazed thick windows will help you a lot as long as you also use GOOD PROFILES where the glass is installed. If you use chinese made stuff and the best glass in there won't help you.
