Chief engineer not on board the ill-fated Sukhothai navy vessel

The ill-fated HTMS Sukhothai set sail into rough seas heading for Chumphon on December 18th without its chief engineer, Vice Admiral Pichai Lorchusakul, commander of the First Naval Area Command, told the media on yesterday (Saturday).

Injured green sea turtle washed ashore on Pha-ngan Island dies

An injured green sea turtle was washed ashore on Pha-ngan Island on Friday night and has subsequently died of the injuries and hunger after veterinarians had tried to save its life.

Phuket reports 4 accidents, 1 death on day 3 of the New Year ‘7 Days of Danger’

One person has died and 4 people have been injured in 4 road traffic accidents in Phuket on day 3 of what officials call the 7 Days of Danger. The accidents all happened on December 31, according to Arporn Rutarapan from Phuket’s Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
