Proof of vaccination for all arrivals? Are they nuts?

Featured Replies

As engineer-turned-health-minister Anutin said, all international arrivals will need to have a proof of covid vaccination, according to a newspaper forbidden to be referred to here.

I just can't comprehend the depth of this insanity. They can really feed us with this nonsense? After almost 3 years of covid madness? They're not even talking about the alternatives like PCR test results or quarantine. They leave us only one option - vaccination.

And all this is because they don't want to discriminate against the so easily offended Chinese. That's why they're better off to discriminate against the unvaccinated. This is Thailand, what else can I say.

f the chinese.

Yes, they are nuts.

Things will deteriorate very quickly from this point forward.

Everyone will be treated equally, especially the Chinese, which in this case has changed the current regulations for everyone to match the so called 'risk profile' of the Chinese.

It's complete nonsense, they should just let everyone in and given enough time (in weeks) I believe they will.

Yes, I am unvaccinated, pure as the driven snow. And wish to remain so.

Vaccination is nothing, especially if it doesn't have to be recent. I'm more worried about the insurance part, if what is meant is in the future my having to waste money on a Thai insurance I don't need.

The insurance only applies to those people with onwards travel to countries that require a negative test for entry, eg China.

I'm loving it.

Gets rid of riff raff. Bye bye

Personally I am not a big fan of vaccines or masks, but I wear them religiously in Thailand. I have been here 10 years and have seen Thais suffer and suffer during lockdowns. If the poorest of the poor in Thailand can wear them then I don't think I should feel to special and do like other foreign jerks inside the malls and public transportation do spreading their farang microbes.

The Op will not post what he posted had he knew this:

Covid Omicron's XBB.1.5 strain evolved from XBB, which began circulating in the UK in September 2022.

XBB had a mutation that helped it beat the body's immune defences, but this same quality also reduced its ability to infect human cells.

Prof Wendy Barclay from Imperial College London said XBB.1.5 has a mutation known as F486P, which restores this ability to bind to cells while continuing to evade immunity. That makes it spread more easily.

She said these evolutionary changes were like "stepping stones", as the virus evolves to find new ways of bypassing the body's defense mechanisms...

What makes you think he didn't know that and what makes you think it would change his mind? He's an anti-vaxxer, plain and simple.

If anybody is still not vaccinated, after three years' time or so, without medical reason, then I think it's no problem to keep those out. Vaccination denier are mostly reality deniers (and/or MAGA fans). Who wants them?

don't see what the problem is, i have my vaccination certificates, i show them, job done.

anyone unvaccinated is fully aware of the potential consequences for international travel, it can hardly be a surprise.
