3 months ago I bought a 2nd hand motorbike from a thai.
I have the green book, the  motorbike , and the documents for the transfer of ownership.

I paid the tax and insurance that was expired.

Now im not sure if I'll keep the motorbike or sell it.

What can happen if i don't transfer the greenbook in my name and leave it in his name?

In case the motorbike gets stolen you can't report it as stolen, or if you lose the green book you can't just get a replacement, in both of these cases you need the assistance of the person who's name is in the green book, and if he can't be contacted or doesn't care you have a problem.

Check the expiry date of his ID card. If the copy shows that it's expired you can no longer use it to transfer the bike, you would need a new copy of his new ID card, and if he can't be contacted or doesn't care...

Hire an agency to handle the transfer to your name.

Not expensive.

Don't mess around and make problems for yourself..
