IKEA urges all customers who own an affected LETTAN mirror to stop using it, and to contact IKEA for a full refund.

Customer safety is the starting point for IKEA. Therefore, we are announcing a recall for LETTAN mirrors with a date stamp before and including 2105 (YYWW), due to risk of breaking wall fittings.

IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards on the markets where they are sold.

Despite this it has come to our attention that some of the fittings that attach LETTAN mirrors to the wall, have been breaking. This has in turn led to some mirrors unexpectedly falling. Therefore, we urge all customers who own an affected LETTAN mirror to stop using it, and to contact IKEA for a full refund.

Please visit www.IKEA.co.th or contact customer service at 02-7087999.

IKEA apologises for any inconvenience this recall may cause.

Good post, this is the kind of thing we'd never see

Who shops at Ikea as I thought people just go there for their meatballs.

Reminds me of the time a mirror in my bathroom in the 3 year old condo I had here in Thailand suddenly fell and smashed into pieces all over the bench, toilet and shower area.  I had just finished using the throne about 15 minutes prior.  Could have cut me up severely or killed me.  The glue used to fasten the mirror had failed probably not suited to this heat.  Screw in brackets best option.
