Yes -- if you are looking for insurance to cover surgery that you already know you will need, some on here will refer to that as 'self-insurance'. jerrymahoney
Just by way of definition, many insurers will consider something pre-existing if a 'prudent' person SHOULD have sought a doctor or hospital for a known condition but did not. internationalism
unless an accident or ilness caused by it, thai insurance would not likely cover you within the 1st year for anything major. That 300-500k is rather a major operation. At the governmental hospitals major one is around 150-200k. If you are really healthy I would not get any insurance yet or some very basic around 500k (ask several agents for policy recommendations, which would indeed cover such large surgery). Do check-ups recommended for your age, even if you feel well. The general test at the governmental hospital is 2-5k. You can then request colonoscopy - that one is recommended from 45 every 10 years.
