I think you're right. His insane conviction that he is one of the great 'strong men' of history, his unshakable self confidence that he just has to say something is right for it to be right, these delusions, reinforced by his sycophant cabinet and advisors, are madness. He believes he rules all, there is no institution in the US that can call him to justice, militarily he rules the most powerful force in the world. All grist to an ego that knows no limits. Any man with a sliver of decency would resign after this Iran debacle. The shame at dragging the world's economy down due to an ignorant and mistaken military misadventure would be too much. But the man who lacks any capacity for self reflection cannot do this, so he writes nonsense about the causes of the woeful state of the Reflecting Pool without batting an eyelid. The world has indeed turned away from his mad egoism, but because of the power he stil holds, sadly it's necessary to keep exposing the drivel he utters on a daily basis. One day it will all be over.
