Thai media was full of stories as political groups met in the north of Thailand in Phayao.

 

Top item of interest was former deputy minister of agriculture and cooperatives Thamanat Prompow kneeling down to DPM Prawit Wongsuwan.

 

Both are highly controversial figures. 

 

Thamanat was convicted for heroin smuggling in Australia.

 

Prawit is famous for his asset declarations regarding a friend's collection of watches. 

 

Both are hoping for a bright future at the polls.

Thamanat is a Phayao MP for the Thai Economic Party so was on home turf welcoming Prawit at the Phor Khun Ngam Muang monument.

 

He had joined others in hailing Prawit as the next and 30th Prime Minister of Thailand. 

 

A large crowd held placards saying "Lung Pom for boss!"

Lung Pom is an affectionate nickname for the portly politico.

 

Other placards read:

 

"We stand by you Lung Pom"

 

"We love Lung Pom".

 

In one 'love' was even written in English as if to underline the love...

 

The gathering was safe ground for both these political players and their cronies as the race to see what happens at the top of Thai politics heats up in 2023.

More than 1,000 security personnel were deployed for the gatherings in Phayao, reported Siam Rath.

 

Thai Rath also reported the story with interesting political photos.

Pheu Thai will have to win by a landslide in the next election and together with coalition parties and some sympathetic senators to stop this unholy alliance of crooks and coupists and deny Prawit or Prayut premiership. If PTP can't win a landslide election, Prawit is in a very comfortable position to be the premier. Buddha weep.

This is obviously a private moment for those two, a marriage proposal is difficult to undertake in the best of times, so let's give them some space.

More like a prosperous outcome... they're not interested one bit in Thailands population, just their own self indulgence.

Just when you thought, It could not get any worse.

Prawit will need 2 deputy PM's to support him... while walking...

Lets hope that the Thai people, are sensible enough to get rid of these muppets at the poles, it's just obscene to even consider Prawit or the drug runner.
