By Thai Newsroom Reporters

AN OUTSPOKEN FORMER MP has expressed online his bewilderment at de facto Pheu Thai boss Thaksin Shinawatra’s repeatedly-proclaimed design to return home without being almost immediately put behind bars.

Ex-Democrat MP Nipit Intharasombat posted on his Facebook page to express his unsettled doubt that the former prime minister who has been earlier sentenced in absentia to a dozen years in jail on several counts of misconduct could possibly come back home without being arrested upon his arrival to Bangkok.

Nipit who will seek re-election for MP in the next general election under the Palang Pracharath tickets contended that Thaksin would be promptly brought to justice upon his planned return at any given day since, the ex-MP said, those misconduct lawsuits earlier lodged against the de facto Pheu Thai boss still await court verdict whilst it would remain to be seen whether a detained Thaksin would be released under bail.

They could always arrest a few corrupt MP's while they are waiting for Thaksin's return.

Thaksin has more than enough money. But he wants to be in Thailand, and he wants to be in the Thai news - in any way possible.

Imagine people would forget him, that would break the little heart of that criminal.

I hope he dies soon. Burn his body, scatter the ashes in the desert and we can all forget about him.

Come home Tony and sort out those who trumped up charges against you.

You can take a Thai out of Thailand but you cannot take Thailand out of Thai!

It is not about the money but about power, image and face.

Dr Thaksin is, to my irrelevant belief, possibly the one-eyed among the blind and Thailand's performance over the last nine years has a roller-coaster character which it never saw before.

Thailand's biggest enemy is her own people, crooks wherever you look, corrupt whatever you touch - to the utter demise of all those honest, uneducated and ignorant Thais who still believe in amulets, meteor showers and lucky lottery numbers.

He has seen the world but now he knows there is no place like home, no place like home. Yes it's not Kanas but it's your home so come on back. Who knows there might be a parade down main street just for you?

True enough.

But overall, Thailand is not doing so bad. Look at the Europe sh!t-show, and the problems in Sth and Nth America.

Just imagine what the going rate will be that they will paying for those to come and camp out at the airport for his return.

Thailand is just swapping one corrupt group for another corrupt group ad infinitum.

I suppose next it'll be Gary Glitter expecting an arrest-free arrival when he next visits Cambodia.

Thailand was never given a chance to clean up corruption with the ad infinitum military coups. Singapore was a cesspool of corruption that was common and widely accepted before 1960s and their institutions were perceived as rotten to the core. Judge their progress now. Indonesia under a Widodo is making much improvement in their fight against corruption according to its steady rise in the Corruption Perception Index. These countries have a commonality in empowering their citizens to vote out corrupt governments. Thailand never had a government that served a full term except Thaksin. Give the people the power to decide and the keep the military out of politics.

And that would mean the dissolution of parliament as every one of them is in it up to their eyeballs.

Yes come home soon please Mr T. The last decent male PM that Thailand had.

A deal ... thaksin and who?

Seems to me the only deal possible would be between thaksin and the judiciary / judicial processes.

Would / could the judiciary agree to a deal to cancel charges against him?

If they did it would make the judiciary look highly corrupt / full of collusion / lacking in credibility.

Surely not a good move.

Yes starting with the present unelected PM, his sleeping partner, Anutin etc, etc, I am not saying whether Thaksin should be jailed or not, but he was democratically elected, which can't be said about Cha Cha and his crew.

It is an accepted fact that they are all of that already, and have been for decades.
