It was confirmed yesterday that the government will proceed with amending drugs laws, to make it illegal to be in possession of more than one methamphetamine tablet, at the moment individuals are permitted to have 15.


The new law will come into effect after it has been published in the royal gazette.

 

The government has approved a plan to develop a national public health database at a cost of 1.5 billion baht over the next 2 years.


The cloud based system will be available to hospitals nationwide allowing a patients medical records to be accessed at different hospitals across the country.

 

The search for a missing German tourist resumed yesterday off the coast of Kho Phangan,  the 35 year old man named Florian Storez is believed to have put a bag on the deck of a ferry before jumping overboard on Tuesday evening. Despite a thorough search rescuers have been unable to find him.


Air pollution shrouded Bangkok in a thick hayes yesterday as the air quality index registered 150 or unhealthy for most of the day,  
Much of the hazes contains high concentrations of the harmful air pollutant PM2.5 that can penetrate deep inside the lungs and into the bloodstream.

Singapore: security forces said yesterday an 18-year-old student was detained in December after he intended to cause armed violence in Singapore and abroad.


The student planned to set up a califate on coney Island in support of the Islamic State,  he intended to stab and kill non-believers in dark alleys,  carry out a mass-casualty attack on an army camp by recruiting a suicide car bomber, and construct an explosive device. 


Myanmar has extended its state of emergency by 6 months, the extension comes on the 2nd anniversary of the coup. 


Meanwhile millions stayed at home yesterday in a day of non compliant protest.


Demonstrations were held in several Asian cities including Manila and Bangkok.

I can hardly see the trees that are a few hundred meters away... people burning all over the place. Might be better for me to move 10km into town and breathe exhaust fumes there!
