Tourism Authority Revises Up Target for Indian Arrivals to 2 Million in 2023

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has revised its target for Indian arrivals from 1.4 million to 2 million this year due to recent changes in COVID-19 regulations by the Indian government.

4 police officers deny demanding fees escorting Chinese tourists

Four junior police officers, who are accused of providing vehicular escort services for a fee to Chinese tourists travelling from Suvarnabhumi international airport to their hotels in Bangkok, have been summoned to the Office of the Inspector-General to acknowledge charges of gross disciplinary violation.

Politicians urged to commit to fighting graft

Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Rutchada Suriyakul Na Ayutya, was arrested on corruption charges in December as a result of whistle-blowing

 

Thailand’s leading graft-fighters have appealed to politicians and political parties contesting the next general election to demonstrate a clear commitment to dealing with corruption, which they said has become more visible and widespread.

Charter Court to rule on non-Thai inclusion in calculation for constituency MPs

Phuket police issue warning about foreigners using stolen credit cards

Police in Phuket say foreigners are reportedly using stolen credit cards to purchase high-end products on the island, including gold jewellery and iPhones. Retailers and businesses taking credit and debit card payments are being told to be additionally vigilant.

Phuket officials issue warning over stinging jellyfish at island’s beaches

The authorities in Phuket have issued a warning about the presence of stinging ‘flame’ of ‘fire’ jellyfish at some of the island’s beaches. It comes after more than 30 people reported being stung at Kata Beach, although most only experienced mild symptoms.

Patong restaurant owner disputes Canadian’s story of being robbed, claim tourist refused to pay

A Patong restaurant owner is disputing the story told by a Canadian tourist who claims he was attacked and robbed. According to a Phuket Express report, 28 year old William Lamarche-Saint-Louis told Patong Police that while walking on Friday night, he was approached by 5 men who demanded he hand over his watch, which he says cost 50,000 baht.

Cabinet approves tourist fee of 150-300 baht for all foreign tourists

Man who walked 1,200km to meet his online mate weds on Valentine’s Day

34 Thais, including one deceased, to be flown back from Turkey on Thursday
