Thai hotels, tour agents focus on Chinese market following 3 year absence

The Association of Thai Travel Agents says that despite the global economic slowdown, Chinese tourists’ spending has not been affected, due to pent-up demand following a 3 year hiatus. But the ATTA president Sisdivachr Cheewarattanaporn says most Chinese visiting Thailand at the moment are certainly independent travellers and the formerly prominent ‘tour groups’ only made up around 10% of the market for the first quarter of 2023.

New Orchid Species Discovered in Songkhla

Culture Ministry Organizes Tour of Northeast for Foreign Diplomats

Thai court questions police over arrest of former national park chief

The Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases has demanded that the Central Investigation Bureau answer four questions pertaining to the incident last December when Rutchada Suriyakul Na Ayutya, former chief of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, was arrested by anti-corruption police at his office.

People in Chaiyaphum warned about the spread of Norovirus

People living in Thailand’s north-eastern province of Chaiyaphum have been advised to exercise caution over the food that they and their children consume, to make sure that it is properly cooked and contains no raw or half-cooked ingredients, due to the recent spread of Norovirus.

Over 13,000 seized firearms will be destroyed by the police

The Royal Thai Police plan to destroy 13,559 firearms, which have been seized from criminals whose court cases have been concluded, according to Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat, the national police chief.
