THE UPCOMING election is affecting investment by the private sector which will slow down until August as it is then that it is expected a new government will be in place,  Matichon newspaper quoted the head of Federation of Thai Industries Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul as saying this evening (Mar. 1).

This gap that has arisen from the outgoing and incoming government which is leading to private sector investment dipping but is something that should not happen necessitates the implementation of stimulus measures to spur the economy during this period.

Key steps to support the economy over the next few months include spurring consumption and pushing government spending and disbursement.

As an investor I would want to wait and see who the new government will be as it might impact certain areas of the economy. How this plays out is anyone's guess. In real world dynamics it should never affect certain markets yet as we can see in Thailand when it's government changes so does spending and support directions.

Ergo why investments are being curtailed. This will have a knock-on effect to the economy I do believe. It is why stimulus measures will need to be put in place as the OP reads. If not we could see prices inflate even more as those measures already in place are curtailed.

Might we expect anything less.

Keep moving the dates up so they can feasibly plan and strategized the next event that will justify any such emergency government empowered for another few years.

Watch....and see what comes about.
