It is virtually always hinged down, has nothing but a cat that sits on it, doesn’t get much use but is great when needed. Is that wood treated with the polyurethane tin you recommended earlier from RTB?

First I use a thinned shellac as a sanding sealer and to add a little gold/yellow tone as I prefer that to the more white of the natural wood, sand to knock down the nibs. I then put enough finish that it looks slightly white, that is a heavy coat and is only possible on horizontal surfaces. I repeat until I get the depth of finish I want. The RTB goes nicely over both shellac and acrylics, so far I haven’t found a finish that it is not compatible with. RTB has a shop on Lazada, the finish is not exactly inexpensive.
