Ubc Alternatives? Heard They Scrap Starsports.......

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have just heard (not confirmed tough....) that by the end of July, UBC ("TRUE Visions") will no longer show Starsports as "their contract is finished" or something like that. I already wondered why Starsports isn't in the current UBC magazine any more.

Now pretty much my only reason to HAVE UBC is to watch Formula-One races live. Which are shown on Starsports - only.

I live in an apartment where i may use my own satellite dish such as UBC (small one) but can't have the huge black dishes for the free satellite TV channels. But i KNOW of some places that have the same channels as UBC without thai subtitles - so there MUST be some sort of alternative.

Does anyone here know how to catch Starsports (or any other channel that shows live Formula-One, with english commentary) without UBC thru a small dish?

I appreciate any advise.

Kind regards.....

your Thanh

Not too sure about this but its possible that Star/ESPN will still be available on certain UBC packages !!!

Thann BKK as far as Im aware the F1 is still available on UBC if you have the platinum package. Like you if they were going to take that off they could come and take the dish back. Shop has assured me that as I have the Platinum package its OK. Time, or next weekend will tell.

so they gonna refund to subscribers for the amount that is allocated for Star Sports?

Hello :o

Thanks for all replies. I tried TVU - no go, the player installs but won't run (Windows Vista....) and also i believe my connection isn't fast enough for streaming video.....

Platinum package? Heck i'm paying 1.500 Baht per month already (gold package) to watch one single channel a couple of times per month - Starsports, if a F1 race is shown! Now do i have to pay 2.500 for that same "privilege"..?? No, thanks..... i was already pissed when they decided to take MTV off for the same BS reason.... i guess in another couple of years down the road UBC will be 99 thai soap channels and an additional 99 pay-per-view channels.

Very upset now about the ever-decreasing quality of UBC's programming....... at present Academy Fantasia is the only watchable content. (Decent stuff is ALWAYS shown while people are at work, and when people are at home in front of the tube, stuff is shown that is remembered from last year).

But i want my Formula One!!!!!!!!!!!

Good night......
