A Thai woman who went with her husband to work in a hotel in Myanmar across the border from Mae Sai, Chiang Rai, is facing a charge of manslaughter after the death of her husband.

The husband had earlier skipped bail on a charge of killing another person in Samut Prakan.

Thai Rath reported that Kittiya, 28, and Ton Aneksap, 29, had gone to work in the One G One Hotel in Tachilek.

Ton - who frequently assaulted his wife - had gone for her in their hotel room with a knife.

In the struggle that ensued Kittiya stabbed him in the left side. He died in bed.

Kittiya was charged and is being held in jail. Police across the border said that she is suicidal.

Her mother Somthawin, 50, from Phatthalung went to visit her.

When the case is concluded Kittiya will be allowed to serve her time in Thailand if the court sentences her to jail time.

Ton skipped bail for killing another person, theft and a gun offence in Samut Prakan, a crime that has a 15 year statute of limitations.

The family of the deceased are having problems getting his body back to Thailand for cremation due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions.

They said they may have the body cremated in Myanmar and just bring his ashes back.

She should be rewarded, not sentenced. :coffee1:

I genuinely hope she only receives a Community Sentence. Better still it was self defence hence no charges (justifiable homicide or whatever).
