Carrying a cough syrup into Thailand
Unless you need it on the flight over, I'd leave it at home and buy what you need OTC here in Thailand. Not that I have ever had a problem bringing some tightly controlled meds to Thailand (perfectly legally- I have a BKK script but they've never asked for it) I've never been pulled aside in probably 50-75 entries. But leave it home just so you don't have to worry. Then stop by a 7/11 and get some Brown Mixture (contains opium tincture) or go to a genuine pharmacy and ask for a codeine based cough medicine. There's even a Boots Pharmacy in Suvarnabhumi if you ever need something urgently when you arrive. -
