Seventeen people have been taken into police custody for alleged involvement in entrance examination cheating for enrolment in the police academy for non-commissioned officers.

Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat, the national police chief, told the media at a press conference today (Wednesday) that two of the 17 suspects are potential election candidates for two political parties.

He insisted that the police did not persecute the two politicians, adding that police have adequate evidence to substantiate the charges against them.

Cheating, I thought the pass mark was 400k? at least that was what my sister in law was told when she took the exam, no need to cheat, just get the bank book out.

Shocking! ????

Only 17??

They were caught with the wrong colored envelopes.  This is an annual occurrence as well as those taking Teaching exams where they have others sit the exam for them for a few baht..well its more than a few.

Trying to be a police officer AND a politician. Talk about covering all the bases.

Whats the point in cheating? Nobody fails here,

The seventeen failed the 'How to cheat' question in the exam paper.????

Eminently suited for both jobs; politician and police.  The other fifteen copied the same name on the top of their paper.

Adisak Sombatkham, a potential election candidate for the Move Forward Party, said that he had withdrawn from contesting the election to focus on defending himself against the charges.

The article names one suspect as a candidate for Move Forward Party, but does not name the other one... That's a bias.
