Authorities are conducting an extensive manhunt for a police officer and his brother who allegedly killed four individuals, including the officer's father-in-law, his second wife, his brother, and another relative on Saturday evening.

 

The incident led to a confrontation at their residence in Surat Thani, during which the officer's brother was killed. CCTV footage revealed that the suspects fled the scene in a Toyota car, taking the officer's wife with them. The motive for the killings seems to be related to a land dispute.

 

A former student activist who has become a monk is refusing to comply with mandatory conscription and intends to leave the monkhood by the end of the month. He aims to campaign for his right to reject military service, which he has opposed since high school in 2014 due to his belief that it violates human rights. He entered the monkhood in July of last year to pursue his studies in Buddhism.


Over 60 Chinese Christians, who had been detained for overstaying their visas in Thailand while seeking to live outside of China, have arrived in the United States.

 

The members of the Shenzhen Holy Reformed Church, which included 32 adults and 31 children, had been in exile for three years, first in Jeju, South Korea, before moving to Pattaya, Thailand. Last month, Thai authorities arrested and detained the group, but with the assistance of a UN human rights group, they were able to arrange their travel to Texas, where they plan to seek permanent asylum.

 

The Royal Thai navy will take delivery of A new Navy frigate from a shipyard in Shanghai China  on  the 27th April, HTMS Chang will serve as a tender for submarines and will be based at Navy facilities in Sattahip. 

 

And… Some 5.1 million people are expected to travel upcountry during this year's Songkran holiday Festival, generating over 23 billion baht in revenue.

Philippines: Seven people including two children died in a fire  over the weekend  
The fire destroyed 40 houses in the densely populated Taytay suburb south east of Manila, it’s believed many became trapped after their only exit became blocked.
