Finnish man accused by neighbours of insulting Thai people

A Thai woman in the Isaan province of Chaiyaphum claims that her Finnish husband was attacked by more than 10 neighbours on April 14. The neighbours admitted to attacking the foreign man but insisted that they did so because he insulted them and the Thai people first.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan Ocha campaigned in Bangkok’s Chatuchak in recent days as he dismissed the apparent opinion poll leads of the opposition and warned of the danger of populist policies.


Comments from the PM come as the Pheu Thai Party makes a further submission to the Election Commission which is continuing to probe the funding basis for its contentious ฿10,000 Digital Wallet policy.

Thailand Releases Total Traffic Accident Results for Seven Deadly Days of Songkran

Thailand – A total of 2,203 road accidents, with 2,208 injuries and 264 deaths, were reported by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) for the Seven Days of Danger road safety campaign during Songkran (April 11th – April 17th).

Construction worker sought after bank manager found buried in stones next to his house in Nonthaburi

Security guard finds dead body of a motorcyclist at MEA Office Entrance in Bangkok

A security guard on Monday found the dead body of a motorcyclist at the entrance of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) office in Bangkok’s Bang Na neighbourhood. It is suspected that the body had been there for three days during the Songkran Festival.

Vietnamese authorities have confirmed that Duong Van Thai is now in their custody, according to Radio Free Asia.
