Former President Donald Trump has lost an emergency attempt to block former Vice President Mike Pence from testifying about their direct conversations, in the latest boost to a federal criminal investigation examining Trump’s and others’ actions after the 2020 election.

The former president has repeatedly tried and failed to close off some answers from witnesses close to him in the special counsel’s investigation.

This latest order from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals likely will usher in Pence’s grand jury testimony quickly – an unprecedented development in modern presidential history.

Narcissists rarely understand the consequences of their actions.

No, he doesn't.

"Well, I hope you're more successful," Judge Lewis Kaplan said. He noted Trump "may or may not be tampering with a new source of potential liability. ... And I think you know what I mean."

Trump has already been warned about social media posts in another case.

The biggest loser loses again.

Like a dog.

The judge will ask: "Are you really the former vice-president?  You seem to be nothing more than an empty suit."

Between this statement and what was said (and not said) by the judge in the Bragg case, I suspect they may be saving this until after the verdict for the cases at hand come in.  They are trying to not let the clown disrupt the trial, which could lead to a mis-trial, and of course delays, which would delight Team Orange.

After the verdict is read "and now I am going to address the behavior of the defendant . . ."  If the judge insists that DT be present when the verdict comes in that will be a tip off.  Keep the plane prepped, junior!

UPDATE: Pence appears before Jan. 6 grand jury

Former Vice President Mike Pence testified Thursday before a federal grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump’s effort to subvert the 2020 election, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Pence’s closed-door appearance marks an extraordinary flashpoint in special counsel Jack Smith’s probe. Smith’s team is investigating Trump’s last-ditch bid to pressure Pence into single-handedly derailing the transfer of power from Trump to Joe Biden on Jan. 6, 2021.

Pence’s appearance was accompanied by a frenzy of security activity at the federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., where U.S. Marshals and other security personnel conducted sweeps of the building before Pence was whisked inside without being spotted by cameras at the courthouse’s main entrances.

This Smith guy is really hittin' it.  Didn't give them a chance to fuss, appeal, insult, etc.

Pence sure does a lot of dodging for someone who claims he has nothing to hide.

This lost appeal was by Trump.

Pence’s original appeal was almost certainly only a means to remove the cause accusations of being ‘anti-Trump’

Both appeals serve to protect testimony by Spence from later appeal, the marginally delay the investigation but protect the testimony given.

This folks is what winning actually looks like.

You have to wonder what dirt he has on them.  Politicians, whilst not incredibly clever, are exceedingly cunning and most would have jumped ship by now.  They are not playing the long game but hoping that blind loyalty will pay off.

Trump strategy to delay to deny to obstruct and lie, and think he’s above all legal authority will be coming to an end sooner than later. Thank God he’ll go down as the worst president, who ever lived  he’s just a one-way con guy I remember him complaining about Obama, playing golf Obama’s, never played as much golf as Trump. Trump spent more money and wasted more of the taxpayers money, he got the national debt the highest it’s ever been in such a short time his way of managing the White House was disgusting despicable, and totally inappropriate what he tried to do to Ukraine him having talks with that Russian president or dictator with no witnesses around who is disgusting Trump did you go eat more hamburgers or McDonald’s?

I'm actually starting to think there may be hope for the future. The tangerine traffic cone of treason has broken just about every law and every commandment known to man, and it's not like he even TRIED to hide his crimes. For his blatant disregard to go unpunished would be a blight of enormous magnitude on a questionable judicial system.

Will he ever wear an orange jumpsuit? I wouldn't put money on it. SHOULD he? Well, let's put it this way - if it were anyone else, they would have been locked up a long time ago.

Jackass loses an appeal????

This is daily news stuff.....so mind-blowing!!

But who is he dodging and hiding from?

Remember this is the guy that the January 6th mob wanted to hang, just for doing the job that Trump was too ignorant and cowardly to do.

I guess Trump figures that pence is such a puxxxy that he can just grab him as he wants....so far he was correct as pence truly is/was a puxxxy to pretend to be a great big christian and yet approve and sit quietly nodding yes as trump broke every rule that the bible had without a word....now it is finally time for pence to grow some semblance of a backbone and tell all of what he saw and heard....who knows if he will or if he will try and evade the questions and continue to protect the man that almost got him hanged.  What kind of person  would put up with what pence did for four + years?  Not exactly a profile in courage.

Trump worst president ever and pence worst VP ever...what a team.

Now that these things are actual court cases we're getting to see how the courts (judges) react to all this.  His sending out internet messages may be the snag -- e.g. regardless of how he comes out of the Carroll trial, the judge may slap him down for contempt of court and give him some vacation time at a gov't facility.  He could also be slapped with obstruction of justice, which would itself involve yet another trial and the penalty will be more than paying a fine.

He doesn't need anything, he could say anything to slander anyone with "the base" and that's that, death threats within the hour.

Child trafficking, baby eating, extreme radical left, etc.  And he doesn't have to be creative, he can just repeat the ravings of people like Boebert.

My point is that he behaves as if he's guilty.  So does his boss.

He was smart to keep his fingerprints off this whole stolen election thing.

Ignorant or cowardly? He was trying to subvert democracy and instigate a coup, and as C-in-C at the time he should be tried by a military court and only the ultimate sentence fits this crime.

With Mike Pence's testimony, Jack Smith's Jan. 6 investigation of Donald Trump picks up steam

"Pence's appearance comes as Smith is believed to be wrapping up his investigation and possibly preparing to indict Trump on charges that could include obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the United States and insurrection."
