SCB ATM Glitch? SCB Card Works Reliably Except With SCB Machines
Sounds like the SCB scam to get you to use your card at another ATM so they can collect fees. I would not put it past this bank. Their ATMs are touchy to say the least. None of my ATM cards work for that bank. Not even my foreigner debit cards. -

Pakistani Man Arrested for Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend in Bangkok After Reconciliation Attempt
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A 32-year-old foreign national has been arrested in Bangkok for attacking his former girlfriend with a knife, leaving her seriously injured, before stealing her mobile phone and fleeing the scene. The suspect, identified as Sahib Zada, a Pakistani national, was apprehended outside a convenience store near a condominium on Serithai Road in Bung Kum district. He faces multiple charges, including armed robbery causing serious injury, carrying a weapon in public without justification, and illegal entry into Thailand. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on 14 March, when Bung Kum Police Station received a report of an assault and robbery. Rescue workers transported the victim, identified as Kanchita, to Ladprao Hospital with multiple facial lacerations and severe abdominal stab wounds. A broken stainless-steel knife blade was found at the scene and taken as evidence. According to police, the suspect had attempted to reconcile with Kanchita, but after learning she had a new partner, he became enraged and attacked her before stealing her iPhone and fleeing. Police launched an immediate investigation, tracking the stolen phone using the “Find My iPhone” app. The signal led them to Serithai Road, where they found Zada wearing the same clothes as during the attack. Upon searching him, officers discovered the victim’s black iPhone 7 in his right trouser pocket. When asked to present his immigration documents, Zada was unable to do so. He was subsequently arrested and taken to Bung Kum Police Station for further questioning. As the suspect does not speak Thai, a translator was provided to inform him of his rights and assist with the legal process. Following his arrest, he was officially charged and is now awaiting further legal proceedings. -- 2025-03-15 -

Cheapest Way to Transfer 1 million bahts to SCB account?
No there isn't one way to save a significant amount, Wise better rate but higher fees than a thai bank. For larger amounts like 1m baht most people just use swift, make sure you send Euro, not baht, better rate from thai bank -

Any recommendations for online brokers (or banks) to buy stock S&P500?
When I set mine up about a year ago they asked me for a TIN. I gave them my Thai TIN and that was it. They only asked me to provide the TIN number, but no other documentation for it.
