Anyone knows a good travel agent or had any experience with Hongkong 3 day tours?

Dear DM2,

Thai Airways currently has a summer offer to Hong Kong. 3 days, 2 nights with flights (in V class; 50% mileage), airport to hotel to airport transfers, American breakfast and choice of flights Thai Baht 11,735 per person plus taxes, app. THB 3,100.pp look at www.thaiairways.co.th

I have used this package deal twice this year and stayed both times at the Tsim Cha Tsui 'Park Hotel' Kowloon. Although the hotel is under renovation, it is done with very little disturbance to guests.

You can book the trip by e-mail via Thai Airways, or walk into one of their offices in Bangkok. Once they confirm the reservation with the hotel and the flights, normally within 24 hours, they keep the reservation open until one week before departure, without any payment up front. If you decide not to go, the booking is automatically cancelled one week prior to departure at no charge. However, I would not encourage people to do this.

TG 600 Bangkok - Hong Kong is a very popular flight and therefore always booked up very quickly. It departs BKK at 08.00 am.

I hope this will help.

Also, try Emirates.

Best deals are available at the back end of peak seasons and so now may not be the best time for the good bargains but with the sheer number of carriers from which to choose you can still shop around and pick up a deal. DragonAir may be worth trying but their arrival time in HKG could be late evening and thus perhaps not so attractive for a quickie break.

Cathay Pacific from Bangkok:

Lots of choices of hotels, I've used their packages for years.

Also, if flying from Phuket nonstop, before the Tsunami I used Dragonair packages lots of times. They are flying to Phuket again and check with them:

Why not do your own thing and travel independently of any tour company?

You can book your airfares on-line through Emirates, China Air, Air India, Thai Airways etc.

I recently booked through China Air on-line for a four day trip to Hong Kong. It was the second cheapest that I found. Air India was the cheapest but you need to be in Thailand when booking as they deliver the ticket to you three days later and expect payment at that time.

Emirates may be the best airline of the bunch but the return trip to Thailand is after midnight, not a good time for some.

You can also book your hotel on line. Plenty to choose from at various prices.

Transportation is so cheap in Hong Kong that you really don't need a tour company to organise this for you. All of the touristy places are easily accessed by public transport.

This can save you a lot of time and money.

I used TV air cos they had some good packages at about 6500 baht per person (Finnair) with reasonable flight times and decent hotels. Only thing is that they need 24 hours to check hotel availability & you have to whack down a deposit in advance.
