Hi all

I am a British citizen amd my wife is Thai. We are thinking of taking a short holiday (and my border run) later this year to either Rangoon, Vientiane or Hanoi.

Does anyone have first hand info about VISAS ON ARRIVAL (VoA) for Brits and Thais to each country? It is easier that traipsing to the respective embassy here in BKK

Do you still have to convert into FECs anymore at Rangoon airport?

Vietnam

VoA for Brit? - no VOA, you have to apply to an embassy or consulate beforehand

VoA for Thai? - free 30 day stamp on arrival

Laos

VoA for Brit? - passport, 1 copy of first page of passport, 1 picture, 1 completed application, 1,500 Baht or US$35

VoA for Thai? - free 30 day stamp on arrival

I don't know anything about Burma. Sorry. :o

For the Laos VOA, I suggest you download the form, complete the application, and glue your picture on ahead of time. When you arrive at the airport, there will be a crazy rush by everyone to fill out the forms and get in line. But if yours is already done, you'll be first in line!
