Thai-owned Leicester City fall out of Premiere League

Leicester City FC have been relegated from the Premier League just seven years after a spectacular title win and a 2-1 triumph over West Ham on Sunday. The team’s chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, of King Power duty-free fame, said he would fight on because this is “not the end of the world”.

“I will do everything I can to return the team to the Premier League next season. There is a lot of hard work ahead of us. I wish to thank all the fans for their support throughout,” Aiyawatt said.

Leicester City were promoted in 2014 and shocked the football world by winning the Premier League title in the 2015-2016 season, but they have been unable to rediscover that winning form since.

hub of relegations.

Everton beat Bournemouth 1-0 yesterday - Had that match stayed 0-0, Leicester would have stayed up & Everton would have been relegated instead.

Shame really, as Leicester City are well supported, with a decent fanbase & I'm sure many people were happy when they defied all the odds to actually win the Premier League a few years back - Wish them all the best for next season & hopefully an immediate return back to the Premiership.

A game of two halves with the intention of getting the ball into the oppositions net.

Not hope other teams win or lose to help you.

Maybe he will transfer some Thai players west?

So Leicester, Leeds and Southampton relegated - I think you'd get very small odds on those self same 3 coming straight back up again.

Maybe Sino-Thai will put in a bargain bid for Kingpower's control of the club?

I've never supported Thais being able to own English football clubs, given the restrictions of foreign ownership of various entities in Thailand.

A friend of mine was also brutally assaulted by Leicester fans outside a nightclub in the mid 90's.

So no tears from me on this one.

The main sponsor, who is a monoploly, has not had a pot to p*ss in for the past three years, so not a lot of money available. This required the removal of their name from the shirts, even though Filbert Street continued to be named after the sponsor. I can see them falling further down the pecking order.

Hardly earth shattering news.

Anything Managed by Thai's will be sure to fail; they can't even run Supermarkets properly !

The son does not share the father's business acumen by all accounts.

As well as the FA cup for the first time and the charity shield. Went down hill this year when Kasper the goalie left, poor replacement.
