Prawit Denies Involvement In Chakthip/Settha/Anutin Meeting At Leicester Stadium

PALANG PRACHARATH LEADER Prawit Wongsuwan Tuesday (May 30) dismissed criticism that he had sent former police chief Chakthip Chaijinda negotiating a possible Pheu Thai-led coalition government in which his own party might probably be included during a Sunday soccer match in Leicester City, England.

Prawit categorically denied he had been involved in whatever the former police chief, known as personally close to him, may have said to any other Thais who went to King Power stadium to watch the Thai-owned Leicester soccer team playing their final game in the English Premier League.

Shortly before the season’s final match kicked off to see Leicester relegated from top flight despite a home victory, Chakthip met with Pheu Thai candidate Settha Taweesin and Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul at the stadium. Both had contested the May 14 election for prime minister.

Sunday’s informal meeting between Chakthip who practically represented the Palang Praacharath, Settha on behalf of the Pheu Thai under de facto party boss/deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Anutin on behalf of the Bhumjaithai under de facto party boss Newin Chidchob at such an unlikely place as a soccer stadium apparently underlined the sustained effort to literally keep themselves in touch with one another and to turn the Pheu Thai into core of a new coalition in which the Palang Pracharath and Bhumjaithai will almost certainly be included, among others, according to partisan sources.

I wouldn’t trust Thavisin at all if I were Pita. He’d happily throw them all under a bus for a chance at being PM

Someone's cooking something up that doesn't smell right.  Divisive politics or squirming for a way in to the cabinet?

Could someone explain to these men that 'public service' means them serving interests of the public, not the other way around. Maybe they would stop trying to undermine progress.

Cut to the chase (if there is one). Thaksin's "unencumbered" return to Thailand is best possible under the MFP coalition without Prawit's party connections.

Who paid for this particular junket?  Did they fly Thai Air?

All relegated together there's a new Mr "P" in town and this one is very cleaver ????

English Premier League football, driven by money, egos, commercial involvement, overseas money and sponsorship with a significant following amongst thugs.

What an entirely appropriate venue for discreet (?) Thai political manoeuverings!

Cannot help notice the irony. The prospective next coalition meeting at a multi billion dollar Thai owned football club that is going down.

Hope they enjoyed the relegation party and are there for the next one in 2024.

CC: Hi fellas thanks for the invite.

ST: No worries. Boddingtons?
CC: Yeah, go on then.
AC: Well hi everybody. Lot of farangs here. Can I have a lilac water?
CC: Why is he here again?
ST: He’s the undesirable necessity.
CC: Ok, So ST, it’s a balance of wants you see. (breaks into Aritha Franklins song Think) You need me and I need you, without each other there aint nothin people can do.
AC: (Singing along not knowing the words) Yeah yeah.
ST: I understand CC. TS wants to come home.
CC: Correct and PW wants power.
AC: I’ll help, I’ll help, can I, can I?
CC&ST: Shut up AC and let the grown ups talk.
ST: We need to get rid of nong Pt first.
CC: Already in the works son – orders from above. If we agree this new coalition then the deal is done.
AC: Can I join? Can I, can I?
CC: You’ll do as your told AC and like it now cork it, there’s a good lad.
ST: But what about our ‘PT will never get involved with the military’ stance - the PT voters will erupt. They will never vote for us again.
CC: A core part of this deal is Once TS is back TS will retire and PT will not run for election again. Anyway PT is expendable. TS couldn’t care less what happens to PT it’s only ever been his tool to facilitate his return.
ST: You mean I could be out of a job?
CC: More than likely but not for 4 years though.
ST: Oh. But what about the trouble. Last time it was only us on the streets. This time you will have both red and orange to deal with.
CC: The reds don’t worry me because we will control the money. Without it they won’t protest. We can push through a few of the smaller easierpolicies of both the reds and oranges to show the minions how much we also want change.
ST: They are young, smart and savvy C. They won’t fall for that and will protest from their hearts.
CC: Yes, but I have the army and 112. So are you in?

ST: Yep. Cheers.

CC: Cheers. (Slurp) Do you have any Leo?
AC: I’ll help. Please let me, please.
CC&ST: Jesus shut up A. What’s the score?
AN: Same as last time. The people: 0. The elite: 1 again.

One wonders;

What comes first?

a. Their own personal well-being or

b. The welfare of the Thai people.

I know the answer.

If they are all Leicester supporters I'm glad they got relegated.
