BANGKOK (NNT) - Automaker Tesla has announced the official opening of its first service center in July along with plans to expand its supercharging stations throughout Thailand.

According to Tesla, its first service center, located on Ramkhamhaeng Road, will feature a showroom, a service and delivery center, and an educational area where visitors can learn more about Tesla’s vehicles and technology. The company will introduce a maintenance service through its Tesla app that will allow clients to arrange service appointments directly from their smartphones or tablets. A special home charging package has also been introduced, which will provide convenient and suitable home charging installations for clients.

Meanwhile, the automaker announced plans to expand its supercharging network to seven stations across Thailand by the second quarter of this year. Currently, Tesla has three stations in Bangkok, located at CentralWorld, Central Rama 2, and Central Rama 3.

In order to expand its EV market in the country, Tesla will organize a roadshow at Iconsiam from June 5 to August 31. The event will exhibit EV technologies and provide visitors with the opportunity to speak directly with Tesla experts.

Is this to service the 3 cars Tesla have sold in Thailand......btw is there a luxury tax 300% on these beauties? I'm assuming they are not made in a Tesla gigafactory in Thailand....one that no one told us about.

i saw one on the road the other day. There are also charging stations in the parking garage at Villa. I'm betting Tesla's will be big in Thailand even if the price tag for the cheapest model is around 2 million baht.

Good luck with that, I wonder how much they will be charging for any type of service... which from what I've read is impossible for the owners to do?

They start at 1.7 million.

I think that's pretty much in-line with prices in the West.

Car maker opens garage.

Why is this even news????

This is news because it is unheard of for a car manufacturer to start selling their cars in a country before a service centre or other facilities for servicing and repairing these cars exist in the country.

Everybody knows that the whole electric car nonsense is just fake news.....like the moon landings and 9/11

Thank goodness that there are people such as yourself with the piercing insight to recognise the impossibility of it all.

I mean, for Christs sake.........have you people really not got it yet?

????????????????????????????????

He does not claim that electric cars are nonsense or fake news. And there are indeed reports from dramas on service and repair...Good luck if there is a single cell or the battery broken, worth some single digit $ amount...but can't replace it.

Only grey market imports. Official deliveries direct from Tesla to Thai customers began March 2023.

There was a time when cars cost a fortune, and to fix them you had to send them back to the factory, or pay for a special team to come out to you.....

Edwardian Transportation: The Car – Edwardian Promenade

..........and that is why, as we all know, the automobile never really caught on, and didn't sell in its millions.

You people just don't get it do you..........it starts with the super rich (the big guy is King Edward VII) and, as time goes by, the the rest of us get them.

Telephones,Televisions........take your pick from the myriad marvels that were once too expensive and too complex..

.You.......just......don't........get it.

No from the beginning of the mainstream cars (beside some first prototypes that were toys for the super rich) you could fix them yourself.....

Tesla is already mainstream and they make the batteries on purpose not serviceable. Like Mercedes would weld their engine together instead of screwing it together.

Of course that may change with other brands entering. I am not against electric cars, they need a few more years and may be the dominant cars than. Or not if they don't get the batteries cheaper.

And if it would be out of warranty and the battery is broken? Enough reports from people where Tesla wants $20K for a new battery. Some companies can repair the old batteries but the new one are full with glue and can't.
