Hey all,

I've been in thailand for a while now and I currently have a work permit and Non IMM-B, but I'm just about to leave my job, as the pressures are getting to me . . .(usually working 18hr days for very little reward!). I used to do the visa runs before I was working (popping over to cambodia for an hour before heading back to BKK) and I was just wondering what the latest is on the 30 day entry stamp?!

Also I was wondering if I quit my job will my Non Imm B expire as soon as my company tell the Immigration/Work Bureau? or will it last still last until the deadline date in my passport (November)? Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

You Non-Imm B will be canceled as of 7 days from your last day at work.

Never been to Cambodia .. I hear they really don't like visa runners there, so I go to Laos or Myanmar. :o

The Non Imm B will only be cancelled if it has been extended for the year. If you have been doing visa runs every 90 day on a multi B then that will remain valid.

Cambodia is fine for visa runners. I,ve been twice on my previous 90 days and it is always efficient and fast. Lam Baen i think the name is?

You appear to be on a one year extension of stay if you are allowed to stay until November so that will end with return of work permit and you will have 7 days to leave Thailand. The visa exempt entry (30 days) rule is not more than 90 days in a six month period. So it can not be used to remain in Thailand without obtaining a tourist visa or two every few months.

Yeah I was on a non-imm B and the they extended it (one year) but its only valid until November at the moment - I got my work permit and extension in March so the one year bit doesn't really make sense to me!!

If anyone has any advise on how to stay here legally for as long a time as possible while I look for a new job please let me know!

The other option is setting up my own company but once again with all the visa law confusions im a little worried about setting a company up and then being kicked out of the country!! If anyone has any advise on the best way to deal with the visa situation whilst setting up a company please let me know!

also any advise on the legal side of opening a company here would be appreciated!! Thanks!
