On June 6, news reports emerged of continuous heavy rainfall that led to flooding and road damage in the Nakhon Thai District of Phitsanulok Province, Thailand.

The excessive water overflowed, resulting in impassable roads, particularly in the areas of Ban Kaengwa 3, Ban Kesathon Suk 3, and Huai Lemaey, located in Nong Khatiao Sub-district, Nakhon Thai District, Phitsanulok Province.

Currently, these areas are submerged, and small and large vehicles are unable to traverse the affected roads and bridges.

Mr. Phusit Somjit, the provincial governor of Phitsanulok, expressed concern and instructed the district chief and relevant officials to promptly assess the situation.

They were directed to install warning signs to alert road users along these routes, and to take necessary measures for disaster prevention and mitigation in the province. They were also instructed to expedite damage assessment and initiate repair work to restore normal traffic flow on the affected roads.

The weather forecast predicts continuous rainfall for several more days due to atmospheric disturbances, causing widespread rain across the entire region.

Heavy rainfall is expected in highland areas, particularly in Nakhon Thai District and Chat Trakan District, especially during the late afternoon and nighttime hours.

Therefore, residents residing in hilly areas are urged to remain cautious, closely monitor weather forecasts, and make necessary preparations for evacuation, personal belongings, and pets to ensure their safety.

Additionally, in the event of thunderstorms, it is advised to avoid open spaces to prevent accidents resulting from natural disasters.

The local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to provide assistance to affected residents.

They are working diligently to restore normalcy as soon as possible and ensure the safety and well-being of the community amidst this challenging weather condition.
