Bangkok – An Algerian man was arrested in Bangkok for 251 days of overstaying his legal visa after he allegedly tried to dress as a woman in order to avoid Thai Immigration officers.

Relevant officials from the Bangkok Thai Immigration Office told TPN media that earlier this week they arrested a 38-year-old Algerian man at a housing estate in Bueng Kum. Officers found that the Algerian man was dressed as a woman before they arrested him.

 

The Algerian man had entered Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2022 but his visa had expired in October of last year and he was now on at least 251 days of overstay.

What disguise?? From the photo he looks like a dude! No hips, no breasts  ...... has he not learnt anything  from the Thai lady boys?? Out of pure emabarassment of wearing that disguse I can understand why his name was withheld.

Did you read the article? The headline and article spells out that he was trying to evade immigration officials. Nowhere does it imply that the was attendind immigration offices, border crossings, or other places where you might happen upon immigration officers.

A wanted criminal (I think a terrorist) got out of the UK that way by wearing a burka.  UK immigration were too scared of upsetting anyone to ask to see his face.
