At 21:25 on July 5th, a shocking incident unfolded in front of the Central Ram Inthra shopping complex on the outbound side of Ram Inthra Road.

A portion of the leftmost lane suddenly collapsed, creating a traffic backlog all the way to Bang Khen roundabout on Chaengwattana Road. Consequently, Bang Khen Traffic Police had to close one lane, reported Siam Rath.

Investigations revealed that the cave-in was caused by a 4x5 meter underground electric cable duct. Electricity officials were awaiting a contractor to fill in the hole with cement. However, due to heavy rain, the previously filled soil eroded, causing the duct cover to collapse.

The contractor is now urgently repairing the collapsed road surface to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
