There were rumblings of discontent yesterday in the Wife's shop,(no, not over Her prices...????). There is usually a bit of moaning over a beer in the evening, but this time She said they were well p***ed off. Mind you, around here it is a wide canyon from talking to action.

Yes, my Thai friend of many years who always has great things to say about her country now says negative things and thinks this is absolutely tyrannical.  She is an educated professional, so this is going way beyond just youthful protests now.  This is making a lot of average Thai people upset I think.  Will they act or just complain like a bunch of Americans?

There is no way for me to benefit from a media entity which ceased operations about 17 years ago,” said Pita, as he pointed out the commission’s submission of his case to the Charter Court after considering it for about 32 days, which seems hasty when compared to a similar case against the cabinet, for which the EC took 386 days.

So he says Right .Now look at this. He had shares so he earned some money from them in 2022 .  I would say that they will stop him from becoming the next PM

In the 2022 financial year, ITV earned revenues of THB 20.5 million (US$617,000) from its investments and interest income and had a net profit of THB 8.5 million (US$256,000).

Yes it would send the message to bureaucrats that Stalin is born again.....

I fail to understand your comment, can you explain it fully.

Who is surprised? Everyone know that Thailand is a dictatorship. We need USA to go into Thailand and take control, dismantle the military and save everyone.

Totally outmaneuvered by the old order. Pita is incompetent--at politics. Were he to gain office, would he continue to blunder? How subtle/smart was it to publicly announce he was going after Prayuth before he was in power? His party can still make a major impact. But they need to do it as the junior partner of Pheu Thai. PTP know the game, the ropes, how to bring pressure to bear and know when to funnel it in the right direction. MF so far is just an uncontrolled mass in the streets without direction. That sort of thing will fade out quickly.

quote: "I think the EC commissioners will soon be out of work, and looking at being charged, hopefully imprisoned  sending a very strong message to all other government departments."

If you imprison bureaucrats for decisions you don't agree than you do like the worst dictators did. No one even claims that the EC broke any law...just disagreeing with their timing.

But MFP gave already the speaker to friends of PTP :cheesy:. Another blunder

have you heard of "malfeasance," it's something you need to understand, anyway, lests bring it closer to home, just study what happened to the Shinawatra's, the see if you still say bureaucrats can't be charged/fined/imprisoned, they might be safe while in government, but not after they leave. Recently we see the EC has even broken it's own rules, never mind what shinanigans they have done, in the past.

Which Shinawatras were bureaucrats? Which laws did the EC commissioner brake? The only dubious thing is that they confirmed MPs without detailed checks even as they still had more time to do so. But no one complains about that.
