Sleeping Disorder

Recommended Posts

People gave bern replying to this post as if the issue was insomnia but as I read the OP not the case, rather a disorder like sleep apnea.

OP I recommend you do as Dr back home originally recommended and have a sleep study done.

Me too - on my second one (the old one still works and will use it for travelling)

Yesterday checked on hours, as the machines are quite reliable (knock on wood).

Im now looking for a spare, as you dont know when it stops for some reason.

Im almost at 19000 hours. It is my second machine, the other one had to go back to provider due to some administration things, just got a new one back then and working every night.

I'm selling my near new ResMed Auto Sense 10 as I don't like using it.

Are you sure? You want to go back to taping mouth? You could sleep with that.

With the machine it is the same. You have to adapt to it, takes time, longer or shorter in time.

I have been there and even sometimes now, it can be a drag, when mask has a leakage due to slight change in mask or your face.

I also dont like using the machine, but have too. It is a mind setting.

No clue how I sleep in the night (normally I never wake up in the night. Even when I didnt sleep without the machine), but never woke up in the morning with the tube around my neck or the machine on the floor.

As the machine is standing on a cabinet next to bed.

Of course it is your decision, but if you do have breath stopping (apneu) it can bring other changes in your body. Mostly starting with feeling tired, as you dont sleep well.

I encourage you to keep on sleeping with the machine, bite the bullet. It can take some time.

As I said before, it is your enemy and friend at the same time.

Thanks for your advice my friend and I understand where you're coming from, I'll not use it for a couple of nights and see what happens. I really don't think it could be worse than the night I had last night, I must have had a mask leak as I woke several times with air rushing everywhere. I have tried all the other masks, nasal, nasal and mouth and hated them, I'm using a lightweight thing that just fits over your nostrils and I find it uncomfortable, my other option is to buy the pillows and give them a go but they are expensive here.

I'm not even sure I have apneas, I think I just need to solve my mouth breathing at night.

I use the Eson 2 now, coming from Eson series before, they made some changes in looks.

They say comfort, but i only think they want to save material.

Wow big pick, but ok.

But every change is again adapting. They made it smaller, adapt, (for comfort they say) then other hoses with silicon plugs. The plastic ones were light, silicon ones less flex. Every time you have (must) to adapt, it is what you dont want and like. A matter of keep on going. I dont know better, it is the way it is.

As you can see the eson has a strap over the head and i saw on lazada most dont have.

I only saw one in lazada, the Resmed NT strap (no mask), a look alike.

They may be costing more, but tested them for more years in a row to use and I can use them longer then

a year. Have done a mask for 4 years with no problems, even the strap. Stopped after 4 year use and had new one. As i wanted to know how or what.

Of course cleaning regulair. Every year I can have a new one, so i have it, but they are in spare.

You say leakage, take your time to make right adjustment, I know boring but...

The whole thing is not loveable, but it is not otherwise. Hang in!

I have used this mask for 2 nights and hated it, the shop gave me one on loan, they also loaned me a mouth and nose mask and I hated it too.

I slept last night without the device and had a pretty good sleep. I quickly went in to mouth breathing mode though as I didn't use the mouth tape. I'll try the tape tonight after doing a bit of research on the net today. It's going to take a lot of convincing for me to use the device again though. Now I just have to work out what to do with it.
