On July 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM, a distress call reported a motorcycle accident on a footbridge near the canal in Thai Samut Sakhon province.

The incident involved a red-black Honda motorcycle with license plate number 3 2130 Bangkok. The rider, Mr. Samran Petcharat, a 64-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, got stuck between the motorcycle and the bridge's wall after falling into the gap, reported Siam Rath.

Local residents and rescue personnel from Prakan Radio Rescue Center rushed to the scene. After using ropes to lift the vehicle, they successfully freed the injured man before providing initial medical assistance. Subsequently, he was transported to a nearby medical facility to receive additional medical care.

Mr. Kittipong, aged 46, an altruistic bystander, became aware of the incident through a prior eyewitness's account.

When he arrived, he saw Mr. Samran trapped and immediately called for help. The footbridge, often used as a shortcut by motorcyclists, lacks proper design for vehicles and should be used with caution.

No. It should not be used by vehicles since it is (supposedly) a footbridge. The entrances should be obstructed to prevent vehicle access.

Future reports should be made only on pedestrians who have fallen into the gap. ????

an altruistic bystander,

Well I learnt something today - what altruistic means (google)

altruistic

adjective

  1. showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others; unselfish.
"it was an entirely altruistic act"

    Well done that man!
