CATARACT SURGERYperience with cataract surgery in Thailand, especially what is called "combo multifocal lens and Femto Laser" which costs as much as $4,000 per eye at home in NY

Featured Replies

I am interested in any experience with cataract surgery in Thailand, especially what is called "combo multifocal lens and Femto Laser" which costs as much as $4,000 per eye at home in NY.  I have been particularly successful with dental implants and crowns in Thailand (at Bangkok International Dental Center) but when I think of eye surgery I can't stop thinking of Un Chien Andalou.  Tell me some good stories.

At Bangkok Hospital Pattaya you can pay more than 4000 USD.

A friend had done this for 150000 Baht.

I would have to ask him how satisfied he is in the long term.

Indeed that US price seems about what you will find in major hospitals here in Thailand.  Be aware multi focal can be problematic so should be done where you will continue to have access.  Not sure how many use laser here for cataract removal.
