August 22nd set for next vote on a new prime minister

House speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha has set August 22nd as the date for the next joint sitting of the Thai parliament to select a new prime minister.

He said that he and Senate president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai are agreed on the date.

The new date was set after the Constitutional Court on Wednesday rejected a petition questioning the constitutionality of parliament’s decision to reject the renomination of Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat.

Bit of a dilemma.. if they abstain and Srettha does not get the required votes then it's over to Anutin who will clear the way for Prawit?

Who is worse?

PTP or Anutin & Prawit Duo?

I don't think anyone will be elected again

Next up, the old fat guy, Prawit will somehow manage to be PM despite 1-2% approval rating amongst the Thai population.

"His about 1% support puts him in the statistical-error range."

I think the only sensible way forward is to fly in Boris Johnson and Liz Truss to finish off the country they have had great success in it already ????

Plagiaristic exponents of the much vaunted Thai wisdom could perhaps be forgiven for metaphoric pluralism...
