A university student found himself in a web of deception after falling victim to an online scam, only to be scammed again by fake police officers who offered to reclaim his lost money. The young man ended up losing a total of 350,000 baht. The incident led to a warning about such scams appearing on the Facebook page “Drama-addict”.

The post specified:

” This case should be taken interest in. It is similar to previous cases we have warned about with scammers, creating fake pages and websites, pretending to be police officers or government agencies.

They fool victims who were initially scammed by other fraudsters, promising to help them reclaim the lost money. If the victims fall for it, they end up being scammed again and end up losing everything.”

The case revolved around the university student who initially fell into an investment scam losing 10,000 baht. Subsequently, he encountered a group that fooled him again.

He reported the first crime online and was approached by a fake special force unit that proposed to refund him his money on the grounds they could hack the betting website where the initial scam took place.

Betting website. Why would anyone gamble with an organization which might be based anywhere on the planet?

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Looks like that there is no admission test for Universities here. Dumb and dumber are welcome.

There is a whole subculture in this world, who absolutely refuse to work for a living, and instead like to prey on those who are vulnerable, naive, dumb, and easy victims. It is our responsibility to be careful, prudent, willing to do some vetting, some research, some due diligence, anytime we part with cash. Especially online. Dealing with Ebay, Lazada, Amazon is one thing. You have recourse. But, dealing with Facebook vendors, Instagram, Youtube, dating sites, or any other social media, the scammers outweigh the real deals. People get taken every day. I get junk emails offering me at least $100 million a month.

These people are parasites, they barely deserve the oxygen they consume, and we must do everything in our power to deny the online worms. Especially cops and fake cops!

Thailand seems to become a scammers' paradise... Greed meeting gullible people who never learnt to think independently. Nuff said...

Some days (not many), I reckon it would be OK to be gay.

He (somehow) had Baht 350,000 to lose.

I could likely do with that free money.

Ah for anyone with Baht 350,000 to give away.????????

And Thailand has them both by the thousands.

Why on earth would you report it online ?

It never ceases to amaze me what a viper pit this place is

A naive person gets duped out of a lot of money and many Thaivisa members crawl out of their hiding places to mock him for self satisfaction.

Makes you wonder how sad their own lives are.

I think you might be interested in a more accurate translation of Proverbs 21:20 from the New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha, which is what they use in academic courses at that slouch school, Yale:

"¹⁸ The wicked is a ransom for the righteous,
and the faithless for the upright.
¹⁹ It is better to live in a desert land
than with a contentious and fretful wife.
²⁰ Precious treasure remainsb in the house
of the wise,
but the fool devours it.
²¹ Whoever pursues righteousness and
kindness
will fi nd lifec and honor."

You want I should send you a copy so you can check it?

Because, "Be Curious in All Things", is my own personal motto to live by...one which I thought up, myself.

I'll just attach the PDF version so that anyone can verify the above quote taken from this work of art, one which has been translated from the Greek, etc...

Not as flowery as the KJV, and a far better and more accurate version, IMHO...

Thank you for the offer. I had enough compelled study of scripture in my schooldays.

I get that the internet can bring out the worst out in people- myself included - but it is beyond my comprehension how so many posters so far in this thread are mocking this person's misfortune for their own gratification.

Absolutely vile and sickening talk, guys. You really ought to stand in the corner and have a word with yourselves.

Honestly, mate, you deserve all the bad things that are coming to you, too.

Just remember that that.

Sounds like Binance. Loads of clowns swear by this company with its registered offices as a bleak garage on a run down industrial state.

There's a saying among con artists, you can't cheat an honest man.

If people did not have greed as a driver, scammers would find life a lot more difficult.
