Giuliani to surrender to authorities in Georgia election probe

The indictment alleges Giuliani was a key part of a criminal conspiracy,  pressing election officials to act on voting fraud claims that he was repeatedly told were false.

Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump’s personal lawyer who championed the former president’s bogus election fraud claims, said he will turn himself in to authorities in Georgia on Wednesday to face racketeering charges alleging he meddled in the state’s 2020 presidential election.

"I’m going to Fulton County to comply with the law, which I always do," he told reporters before leaving for Georgia. "I don’t know if I plea today but if I do I plead not guilty."

Giuliani and Trump both face 13 counts, more than the other 17 defendants in the case.

The former New York City mayor has maintained his innocence, and claimed the only thing he’s guilty of was zealously advocating for his client.

“I never thought I’d ever get indicted for being a lawyer,” Giuliani said on his radio show last week.

Trump has said he will surrender at the Atlanta jail Thursday.

Sad to see America's Mayor like this. Like so many other politicians, he has just been lingering too long in the spotlight and needs to retire already.  The US needs age/term limits and needs them soon.  I know that Rudy isn't an elected official now, but the principle still holds IMHO.

And I am expecting soon: tu quoque, Giuliani mi!

He must be aware that Trump stiffed many others on legal fees already. Caveat Emptor.

Old rudi better do some flipping soon before mark meadows gives it all up and rudi has nothing left to offer ah well ya play with a fraud expect to get defrauded

on that midnight plane to Georgia  . . .

I think it was Comey who was the first to compare the individuals in T____ World to real mob figures.  Lately the media is doing more of it with the henchmen (and women).

All he had to do was retire to the hamptons, write a book about his days as "americas mayor" and stay away from trump....but his ego demanded he be in the spotlight....yet another idiot that drank the kool aide and destroyed his credibility and life.  Sad but  he will soon pay the price for that giant ego.

Not to disagree with the above but the association of Trump and Giuliani goes back a long ways:

Kiss and tell: A brief history of Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump
The history of President Donald Trump and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's long-running friendship

Trump supports Giuliani for mayor

In 1989, Giuliani was the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and an aspiring mayoral candidate and Trump was a real estate mogul who placed full-page ads in New York newspapers calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, a group of black and Latino teenagers from Harlem who were accused, convicted and imprisoned for a rape it later turned out they didn’t commit. That year, Trump co-chaired Giuliani’s first campaign fundraiser. He also donated $3,000 to Giuliani’s campaign.

Ha! You have already been suspended from practicing law, which should have happened alot sooner. You were not practicing law. You were practicing gangland law. You were flouting every law possible. You deserve prison, just like the man you once bowed down to. One can only hope.

Will you be testifying for the prosecution?

Sadly, with each passing day, American politics are getting to look more and more like those of a Banana Republic.

Gag me with a spoon !!! ????????????????

Saw a little bit of drone footage of the loon-creep walking from his car to the police station.

He can't find a lawyer to represent him apparently.

It has been said, on a bunch of world spanning news feeds I have watched today, that he has so little money, and is known to not be able to pay the huge legal bills he's accumulated for hitching his wagon to the sociopath Trump that no Georgia lawyers will talk to him about representing him.

Worst case scenario he will be offered a Georgia State paid Public Defender lawyer (Legal Aid as we call it in Oz), as he is not allowed to and cannot stand trial without a lawyer in Georgia.

Ahh ... the tanged web we weave.

As a lawyer can he not defend himself?

Jenna Ellis surrendered along with Rudy. Her defense:

"I'm the opposite of a Smart Feller".

Who smiles like that in their mug shot? Other than Squeaky Fromm?

A lawyer who takes his own case has a fool for a client.

(Not original, and certainly not new)

Judge schedules Trump codefendant Ken Chesebro for October trial in racketeering case
The expedited trial date does not apply — at least for now — to Donald Trump or any other defendants in the Georgia case.

A Georgia state judge has scheduled an Oct. 23 racketeering trial for Kenneth Chesebro, one of 18 codefendants charged by local prosecutors alongside Donald Trump in a plot to subvert the 2020 election.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis asked the judge, Scott McAfee, Thursday to schedule the trial for all 19 defendants on that date, an unexpectedly rapid timeline that Willis proposed in response to Chesebro’s formal demand for a speedy trial. But McAfee indicated that “at this time” he would only expedite the trial date for Chesebro.

Actually, it looked a lot like a banana republic from 2016 to 2020. Now sanity is returning.

The increasing number of homeless on the streets of American cities is a strong indicator that sanity is not returning.

Does that mean freedom of speech doesn't include the right to slander, libel and threaten people?  Somebody better tell Trump.
