The Thai Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall across various regions of the country, brought about by low atmospheric pressure near the Vietnamese upper shore and the southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Thailand.

 

Thailand continues to experience thunderstorms, with heavy rain in certain parts of the northeast, and central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Citizens in the upper northeastern region are advised to be cautious of heavy and accumulated rainfall, potentially leading to flooding.

 

Mariners in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate with caution due to waves of approximately one metre in height. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, wave height may increase to between one and two metres. Mariners are advised to avoid navigating in areas experiencing thunderstorms.

 

In the northern region, 60% of the area will experience thunderstorms, particularly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Tak, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun provinces. The lowest temperature will be between 24-26 degrees Celsius, while the highest will be between 32-35 degrees Celsius. Winds will be from the southwest at speeds of 10-20 kilometres per hour.

Unfortunately, my part of Phitsanulok province seems to lie in the 40% which will not get the bad weather.

Please, we need rain here!

In Pattaya we have been bracing ourselves for weeks but, apart from the occasional brief shower, nothing has happened!

Has the Royal Thai Navy been informed about this? They seem to have problems navigating their boats when there's a little bit wind.

Got a reasonable spell of rain last night where I am North of town.. enough to persuade me to do a pool backwash... sunny again this morning, not quite fitting the predictions.

The predictions from the weather department is becoming as bad as  Tourist authority of Thailand predictions, everyday  there have been predictions of heavy rain,  and next to nothing comes....

If I may suggest, a photo map of expected rain etc would be very useful to go with these weather reports

Last night central Pattaya just before 8pm there was a very heavy downpour for 30-45 minutes and some continued drizzling later.

Was a very heavy "nothing".........

Nothing on the Dark Side, where I am at least.  I have noticed that rainfall here can be very localized though.  Forecast for today, on my weather app, is sunny - but it's pretty cloudy out there so maybe we'll get some rain later.

It's wind in submarines you really have to worry about

Tends to be very localised here in Isaan as well.
