BANGKOK, Aug 30 (TNA) – The Pheu Thai party’s leader Cholnan Srikaew will resign to keep his word after his mission to form a new government is completed, said Pheu Thai party list MP Adisorn Piengkes.

Adisorn posted a message on social media stating that Cholnan will step down as the party’s leader following the successful establishment of the government, which saw Srettha Thavisin become the prime minister.

His resignation means that the party will have to elect a new party executive committee within 60 days.

During the election campaign for votes, Pheu Thai leader promised that his party would not join a coalition which included the military-linked parties otherwise he would step down as party leader.

He doesn't care, he's been made Minister of Health.

A nice reward for someone who campaigned passionately against PT teaming up with the junta parties.

Deception, dear doctor.

How many people voted for PT because you vouched the party would never join with the uncles?.

'An honest mistake', no doubt

He did the deed then stepped down?

That's like offering a Wai after beating the missus and hoping to make up.

I think he will be looking over this shoulder for "retribution" from an angry Thai citizen, for a long, long time.

The (now not fugitive) criminal is the devil. He owns the party.

Sure but even worse, Thamanat (in jail in Australia for 4 years convicted on drugs charges) has been made a minister.

Same old merry go round, same old lack of ethics. When will we see a change to all of this?

Just wondering how long larger numbers of PT will allow the paymaster to contol the party.

And just wondering how long larger numbers of PT will allow the paymaster's step by step shenamigans to gain 'home detention etc'.

All very obvious to all Thais, just an obvious game lacking in adult thinking.

One serious withdrawal already - Jatuporn.

Oh come now, he's a Politician, you shouldn't raise the ethics bar too high.

Story without words?

Thaksin's intention to enrich himself were known from the very beginning. His so called honest mistakes.

It seems many Thais ignored the obvious for about two decades.

I hope they wake up now. But I wouldn't bet on that.

Nice points.

I agree he seems to continue to believe there's rules for him and different rules for the rest and he's special.

There's no doubt the time will when large numbers of his followers drop him

I'm sure you noted only 10% now following the PT party.

The new coalition is a bigger collection of thieves, bandits, liars, criminals and bullies than even before. Complete sham.

If Thailand is not moving backwards, then it's certainly doing no more than treading sludge.
