PM asks Khuong Sreng to prepare buses to transport workers to their hometown on Pchum Ben day

Featured Replies

In the second meeting with the workers on the morning of September 1, Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, instructed Khuong Sreng, the Governor of Phnom Penh, to prepare buses to transport the workers to visit their hometowns during the upcoming Pchum Ben festival. “Please, His Excellency Khoung Sreng, prepare the buses to transport our workers to their hometowns to elebrate the upcoming Pchum Ben day,” the premier said.

The order to Khuong Sreng came from the new Prime Minister of Cambodia after the state prepared hundreds of buses on the day of the election on July 22–24 for people to vote in their hometowns.

The state’s public transport service costs roughly $600,000 per year to deploy buses to carry citizens or workers to visit family for Khmer New Year and Pchum Ben. He added that what is the policy of the old government that cares about the people is that the government continues to do the same. Dap-news
