Not sure if normal....

Last Friday Dr cut out BP Med's for 14 days, so Thursday last week was the last of BP Med's

Form then went up every day to Wednesday was 190/95  + good with Pulse rate going up every day.

Thursday 167/85  with Pulse 80   this morning 155/84 with Pulse 81...  makes me wonder why I have been subscribed 2 or 3 different High Blood Pressure pills every day for over 30 years  ?

My advice to you FWIW, is to PM Sheryl and get to a hospital asap.

She can give you far better advice than me, but judging by your BP readings given here, and the recommendations from my Microlife  BP 3AP1 3E BP tester, you may need to see a specialist rather than the normal GP.

My problem was that I was on blood thinning tablets, Morfarin 5mg, and my BP was to low, the doctor said I should stop them (that worked for me) and my BP went up towards the normal range.

This is from the operating manual from my Microlife BP 3AP1 3E BP tester and you should do a search across several medical web sites and come up with an average for a man of your age and weight, then compare it with your readings.

But Please Please contact Sheryl as she knows more than any other poster on this site. I can only speak for me, as everybody is different.

Your body changes as you age. Heart gets weaker, arteries blocked, etc etc. The symptoms you were treating 30 years ago may no longer exist so your meds need to be adjusted. I took 2 or 3 BP meds 30 years ago and now I need none.

Just an observation, but your a1c of 5.x is low for a diabetic. This is not necessarily an issue but the normal target is 6.x so you might be able to reduce some of your diabetic meds too. More body changes as you age.

Your systolic BP is dangerously high.  Return to the hospital with these readings. Request to see s cardiologist i.e. don't go only to the Diabetes clinic.

  • 3 weeks later...

Yet again Hospital yesterday  BP to low  95/56 pulse rate 98 + loads of tests X-rays/ECG/EKG = heart is fine, lunges fine...  some blood sent to a different Hospital for test [don't do these test at my Village Hospital] so must go back next Friday,  Kidney function dropped alarmingly in 14 days  = take NO BP meds for a week + wait for blood work back for different  Hospital

Dr suggests to change Insulin to   'glargine Insulin'  my Hospital don't have

change Metformin 850mg  to  '1000 mg XR'   my Hospital don't have

Must try to find a Pharmacy that stocks it myself + see price..

Used to go to Chula [Red Cross]  but Covid + 2 hours each way on Public Transport + all day at a crowded Hospital made me change to the Local Government Hospital...
