webfact Posted October 6, 2023 Share Posted October 6, 2023 Bangkok — On October 3rd, 2023, the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA) dispatched a special operations team to raid a gambling den in the middle of the Din Daeng market community in Bangkok. The Ministry of the Interior received a complaint from Din Daeng locals that there had been a gambling den organized by an unidentified influential figure for more than 3 years. Many locals in the crowded community area were allegedly addicted to gambling, with schools and government offices nearby. The 24/7 facility reportedly used a snooker club as a facade and had additional rooms with layers of electric door mechanisms. Each entrance would have guards stationed with strict security. The interior was like a maze for those who were not regular customers.
