Those confiscated firearms look like garbage.

Wait until Thai criminals figure out how to use 3D printers.

China's just over the fence, so it's already a blossoming business, back it in

  • I've got a question. Why don't they just do their jobs when we're not having a "crackdown"?   If all this was out there, why would they all of a sudden find them? I think I know.

Because they are a reactive  force and not proactive. Things only happen when it hits the headlines and may have a negative effect on tourism or Thai social media makes it a big thing.  All the online

Which country are you from? Penalties are generally imposed there before the court has dealt with them!?:post-4641-1156694572:

The Uk has 5 different levels on having and using guns, there are mandatory jail terms put in place, you are charged, yes you make a court appearance but you would be held in remand, not released on bail, no reports have been given on any cases thus far.

Why? They have to Show that they are doing something about it.

You are right they can do those Raids All Year Round . Just Politics drumming up votes.

THere are quite a few ex-service men and their cronies who openly baost of having firearms (collections) on Samui - it's only a matter of time before someone is shot by a foreigner.

THere are gun clubs and shooting ranges dotted around the island and I'm sure it's very easy to persuade the local police your are a "mate" as well as some of the local "people of influence" - this of course makes a "clean-up very difficult.

I am glad the police are getting some guns off the streets. 3 D printers in the wrong hands with the instructions,

which are also easy to get, are making the world a more dangerous place. IMO

Why do they have gloves? Protecting fingerprints or are they afraid og getting a virus. But looks good together with their tight shirts.

Are you aware of "Thai Pradit" guns. These are a range of homemade weapons often used by those M/C gangs often just one shot cartridge guns they are made from non furearm materials but obviously still lethal. They have been around for decades.

If you can't make one yourself the prices start at around 6000 baht

That only leaves about half a million other weapons and unregistered firearms.

They should do a buyback amnesty like Australia did.

Did they not find any drugs in their raids? if not I dont believe this story, carry out so many raids across the country there is not enough police,

254,000 active officers.

So they say...

Makes you really wonder what they actually do?

Police should make movie for TV3 or TV7. Get some lost income back. New shops will be busy next month to keep up with new orders for guns. ????
